Deiseil: Dancing in Time – Duffus

An immersive and compelling journey across centuries of tradition, told through fiddle, feet, Gaelic song, and storytelling. This work powerfully explores how stepdance was nearly lost in Scotland, sustained instead in Cape Breton, and traces the lifelong friendship woven through its revival here.

Groundbreaking new work from award-winning theatre director Gerry Mulgrew, and Deiseil Airson Dannsa founders, dancer Alison Carlyle and musician Amy Geddes.

Deiseil/dʲeʃal/ (sounds like jay-shal) means ‘ready’ in Scottish Gaelic – an invitation to be ready for a mesmerising reflection on culture, identity and connection.
